FEATURE Where do Blue and Yellow Quakers Come From By Tom Nemerovsky

Tom and Karen, his wife, have spent a lifetime breeding birds, mostly Quakers. They started out breeding the regular green Monk Parakeets and progressed to breed blue Quakers, Cinnamon Quaker Parrots then dark eyed Yellow Quakers. Here is a contrast picture showing the difference between a baby green and baby yellow Quaker.
This is Tweetie. a cute, lovable, yellow Quaker. Tweetie. doesn't know that he is only the second one of his kind on planet earth. He thinks he is just a baby Quaker.
Actually, he is just a baby Quaker, but obviously a very rare and very special little boy. These pictures were taken in August of 98 in Fort Lauderdale at the annual bird show. Tweetie was still eating formula and making those cute baby Quaker sounds.
Can you tell that this bird is well loved?

The master's hands wrap gently around this lovely little yellow creature.

Tweetie, such a cute little baby Quaker parrot.

Today, here is Tweetie all grown up. What a handsome, special quaker. Tweetie still lives with Tom and Karen at their home in Florida. He's about ready to breed and maybe carry his color to another generation of sweet Nemerovsky Quaker babies.

You can contact Tom and Karen Nemerovsky on the Birds and Such II web site or e-mail them at  TOMFUN@aol.com. Their birds come highly recommended.

Tom's BLUE Quakers

We dubbed this little split to cinnamon Quaker Parrot "Sweet Pea" at the show because he was so sweet and cuddly just lying there letting almost anyone (that could get him out of my wife's hands) scratch his belly. Tom says that he is still the same today.
