Stanley is a lovely little 110(1998) (130in 2003/04) gram little green creature that brightens my day. Stanley is a Quaker "Monk" Parakeet born in Florida. He is a great little creature. He talks and cuddles whenever I pick him up. He doesn't skawk much unless someone new enters his cage, our bedroom. He loves to take showers with me, play in his food, build with sticks in his cage, and write stories. When he has wings he is an awesome flyer. I have only partial flying pictures, he's quick too.
Below are quite a few photos of Stanley growing up. I have other albums linked through the green navagate buttons above and below. Have a great time visiting Stanley's QuakerVille.com
QuakerVille is dedicated to my wonderful little Stanley.

Stanley's Photo Album

stanbath-3.jpg (20721 bytes)If you are a bird owner, you know how cute they are during and after taking a bath. Stanley does not frequent the bath area since he is not fond of the water. You can see his full wings as he fluffs and enjoys a bath in his large outside water dish.
stanbath-2.jpg (18841 bytes)There is just something about a wet bird. They don't look exceptionally cute in photos but they are really cute actually taking a bath. They fluff up and flap and bounce around in the water and splash around and just have a truly great time. It's tough to describe unless you see it.

Willy takes a bath while standing on my hand in the sink. I'll have shots of that soon too.

stanwide-1.jpg (14248 bytes)Stanley has had several cages over the past four years, actually one per year. This bridge cage was special for him. He loved to sleep on it.
stanwide-111.jpg (20531 bytes)Stanley has a great building ability. This shot shows how his "rawhide bones" get woven into the corners of his cage. He's not only a builder but an artist.
stanwide-112.jpg (21702 bytes)Stanley always has a messy cage. I can spend the entire day cleaning has cage. I will reassemble it and within about half an hour he has it stuffed with things from all over the room.
stanwide-113.jpg (32709 bytes)Before we moved to a smaller house, Stanley's cage sat right next to my bed. This is usually what I saw every morning when I woke up, Stanley starring down at me from under the covers ( he is mostly covered to sleep). He loved to peek out the covers and watch me watching TV or reading or... well... whatever.....

He doesn't sleep very well when we are apart because he is used to my snoring and can't sleep when it's quiet. You can see his building abilities here too.

Quaker Etiquette

Work out like "Arnold" and you'll look like Arnold big and strong.

Always pose pretty for the camera and try not to step in someone else's poop.

Perching is an ART! This is the fabled "Thumb" perch. It's origins are from ancient Egypt. Learn this perch to best miss Mama's hand when pooping!

For safety's sake. Be sure to eat from a spoon while firmly holding on to the cage with both hands.

Eat PLENTY of strawberry yogurt, not ice cream. It's better for the digestion.

"What are you doing with that funny black box with the bright light that scares me. Gotta keep my eye on you"?

This is the standard Quaker photo pose. Wear it always, and try to smile.
