Raleigh's World - begrudging shared
with Beeper the Lovebird
|
"I only
do this once every couple weeks. Usually it's after Daddy helps me with pin feathers. (I
only nibble him a little, just enough to keep him in line.)"
|
 |
|
"This
could have been the Classic Quaker Pose. But what did Mom do? Wiggle the camera.
Ha!"
|
 |
|
"In the
old apartment, I got to eat while sitting on the carpet. Now they make me keep things
clean. I do my best to disobey. Every time Mom sweeps the kitchen I make sure I drop
my food on the floor."
|
 |
|
"I really
hate it when they do this to me. I wriggle and squirm until they right-side-up me.
Don't they understand I'M the boss?"
|
 |
|
 |
"Mom and
Dad have decided that if I'm allowed to eat at the table, I have to make an effort
to get there. I run as fast as I can from my cage to the play area and down the ladder to
the food!"
|
"This is
one of my most favorite food. Except they shake the salt off first. Why do they do
that. And while we're at it, why won't they give me and M&M?"

This was our Dutch Blue
Lovebird, Beeper. She was a gift from my husband on Valentine's day in 1997. She
loved me... she would cuddle at the top of my shirt, and stick her head out of
the neck-hole. |
These pictures
don't show her colors well...she had a bright orangey-peach head, a brilliant blue back,
and dark sea-green wings. She was a very beautiful little girl.

This is
one of my favorite pictures of her. She thought she owned the popcorn, and she got
mad when I tried to eat a piece. It's wonderful to be able to remember all her
antics.
Beeper passed away from cancer
(specifically leukemia, the vets said) in June of '98. I still miss her, but I'm glad
she's off to a world (the Dog Lists call it the Rainbow Bridge, which fits her perfectly)
where she can romp and play and have all the popcorn (and maybe even chocolate) she wants.
I'm sure she's chasing all the bigger birds!
