CommentsYour Gabby is so beautiful ! I'd appreciate some hints to teach Lori some words , she's about 4 months old and I only can get her to say "hello" (but she says it very well and looks so cute) . I'm from Argentina , the country of origin of quakers , you can see then flying freely in here , and there are about 100 living in the park across the street , for what I see I think you'd love to be here . ( Excuse my English - I'm still working on it)
Commentsenjoyed your homepage and looking for friends of other QUAKER owners
CommentsThis bird is the joy of my life. He is very talkative can sing, sneeze, cough and laugh(he's laughing at us now!) I can almost have a converstion with him. He asks for a bath when he wants one. He calls the cat and dogs by name and is generally a member of our family. Jill.
CommentsHi, I also adore the Quakers. Still don't know the truth, parrots or parrakeets. I am handfeeding one I Just purchase, straight from the egg, it is 2 wks now and getting big and eating well. I have no knowledge of them, when to start putting food in the tank, or what to do next. Guess and by golly and do my best. If you have time could you email me back and advise me? I live in Norman OK and have about 50 birds and several varietys. Thankyou and Gabby looks sweet. Thank you for your time.
Commentsyou have a very sweet site for your bird! my peeps is sitting here with me, trying to chew on the keys (I think he wants to write something too). i'm happy to see another quaker owner who is proud of her bird (and a bird who is proud of her owner, of course) :)
CommentsHi, We Just got a baby imperial quacker today. He is 8 weeks old. We need some advice on feeding. How much does the parrot eat a day? We have baby food (mixed) to give him till it runs out. Then other baby food till that runs out. We are hand feeding Nevada, but do not know how much to give him. Please help! Sandy and Jay Ross
CommentsYou have a beautiful quaker. I'm thinking of buying one right now but it's a little bit hard to find one in Virginia. Also the price is higher.
CommentsI've just adopted a quaker today after several months of contomplating whether to or not.I just didn't want to rush intoanything befor I was sure I knew what I was getting my- self into.I wanted to get one that was being hand fed and watched for several week this one clutch grow and when I decided to go and buy one they were all spoken for.So I had to wait for the next clutch to grow and in the mean time someone decided to change their mind and I just happened to be there when they said this particular bird could go home now so I choose to take this one instead of the baby. It's from the same breeder and the bird is very sociable and has been around alot of people. So I think I made a good choice and get to take the bird home on Thursday,July 2nd.I'm really excited and choose the name"Pickles",one of my students said I should name the bird this since it was green,(He's four years old)I thought this would be a good name.So I'll take any advice you may have and look forward to hearing from you and yours.Thank You,Marcia Escobedo
CommentsI have just recently got on the internet, this is so great. I got my buster abaout two months ago and i love him so much, love the pictures of gabby,i've taken several rolls of film myself, would love to chit chat sometime and learn more about these wonderful family members.
CommentsSammy and I say hey to Gabby and all! We think Gabby is cute. We like the things you constructed. What list? Sammy is our first Quaker and we love it!
CommentsI love your poem...Can I reprint it in our club newsletter along with info on Quaker Legalization Day?
CommentsLooks like this Quaker is living the good life! All of mine are jealous!!!
CommentsHe's the love of my live. A clown from the word go.
CommentsHi Gabby, Do you talk as much as Tweety? Tweety calls the dogs, says here kitty , says everyones name in the household, 5 total, and about 50 other phrases. He is a real talker.
CommentsGreat web-site!! Gabby is a cutie

CommentsYou have a very pretty bird . . . where did you get all that stuff for her/his play area . . . I live in a small town and the pet shop doesn't carry much for birds.
Commentsthanks so much for your page. I don't know anyone else with quakers so I have really enjoyed the pictures and narratives.

CommentsHi! I really enjoyed your page. I have a webpage you might be interested in. It's called, "Wndwkr's Bird & Animal Room". The URL is: http:// members.tripod.com/~Wndwkr/WndwkrsRoom.html. I have 30 links to date, most of them by percentage are quaker links. Stop by for a visit! By the way, you have some cute pictures, too. §teve
CommentsI love Quakers
Commentsi dont know what to say just that gabby seem to be very nicce
CommentsMy husband is interested in aquiring a quaker. We currently have a lovebird, Sweetie. She is a clown too. We're having difficulty finding anyone to talk to about quakers. We've discovered they are illegal to own in GA and were recently told they were illegal in TN as well. We are TN residents. I will to more research. Linda Gay of Ooltewah, TN (near Chattanooga)
CommentsYour poem says it all. I love kelly so much she/he makes me laugh so hard. When the lights are out for bed , pretty soon you hear this soft laugh and of course I start laughing and she says love you big kiss. she/he does so many funny things but I think she was abused before I got her. She has no feathers on her chest and under her wings I cannot seem to get her to stop it. She is with me from the time I get up and leave in the a m then I come home and she is with me till bed time. On the week end she is attached. She appears to be afraide of water and is now letting me take her into the shower. But I love her so much. My cats can't believe that bird. Kelly thinks it is ok to eat between two of my cats. They do not bother her. I loved your page.
CommentsJust got bubba today...october 28. Don't b;ame me for the name. The guys at the pet store named him (her?), and so I decided to stay with it. He was a little older (8 months) then the others, so no one wanted him. What a charector. Like to play "dead bird" and tickle. I have twp keets, in another cage of course. I know nothing about quaker parrots. I understand they can be taught to talk quite easily. Also how do you sex one short of DNA testing. Appreciate the info. Or anything you have time to tell me. Judith.
CommentsWHATS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF FOOD?
Commentsmost of the time i call her lola, because she is also a 'replacement' for the first Lolita that died due to miniature dauschand- named Snoop Doggy Dogg - after the rap artist. I have teenagers. you are the first person i told this to. i replaced her the same day, and she looks exactly like Lolita did, and since I didn't tell the kids what happened, Lolita has to have the same name. She however has a different personality, so I call her Lola most of the time. she wants to be out of her cage 100% of the time, on my shoulder. I keep my parents dalmation, named - Spot, for the winter. I pray that Spot won't kill Lolita.

CommentsHi my name is Ashley! On Saturday the 28th of November I am getting my first Quaker parrot! I had a parrolet but it was to small for me. She ended up dieing form a freak accident and thats when me and my family finally realized we need a bigger bird! I was hoping you could send my some info. on them (ex: what size cage, playpen. food, toys, etc.) Wel please try to get back to me ASAP! Thank-you very much, Ashley CAdidas411@AOL.com PS: Your bird is VERY cute!
Commentscan u send me some info on quakers as pets? ive never had a bird before (much less a quaker!!) so could u tell me some stuff? thanks!!! lisa
CommentsGabby is darling and your poem is wonderful! It sure describes a Quaker>
CommentsI loved the poem! Quite Creative!I think Gabby is adoreable
CommentsI just bought my little quaker. You can say it was love at first site. She is a very well behaved bird. She can talk, laugh, and play. I had a cockatiel about 20 years ago. However, they are very depramental. Seinfeld gets out of her cage, and just sits there without flying about and is usually very quite. I am amazed by her. By the way, I love your birds play set. Could you please give me the directions on how to build it. i know seinfeld would love it, or could you tell me where to get one. I was also wondering what have you found to be the best way to teach them to talk? Thank You and keep up the great work.
CommentsHi Gabby! My name is Bimini.I'll be two years old in May.I can say "No Bite" and "come on" and whistle jingle bells and the theme song to Andy Griffith(sometmes a combo of the two!) I'm very spoiled and like lots of attention!I am a handsome bird-maybe you can be my pen-pal! Bye! Nips and hugs-Bmini

CommentsHi thanks for sending me this info I enjoyed looking at yours and other quaker parots. I belive I saw them on FX the Pet Department T.V. show. Think they were called mini parots or something like that. I would love to find out more about them like cost of purchasing one,and how much care is involved, and do they get along with other birds? I have 3 birds presently in my home 2 parakeets, and 1 cockatiel all three spoiled and tamethey all get along fine although the cockatiel DEMANDS more attention! And we don't really mind! Love them all to death and my sheltie doesn't bother them in the least in fact our cocatiel drops food off the kitchen table for her to eat! Hope to learn more about these adorable birds as I might just want to get one sometime in the future that is after I get all the info and find a reputable breeder in my area wich might not be to easy. Thanks for sharing your pictures, Elaine
Commentsi just had to come to this page because of the name...i like it.the poem made me cry, it was so sweet. these little birds are so precious. thank you for sharing the pictures, and that sweet poem.

CommentsI like Gabby she's soo cute! My baby Quaker is 19 days old, we've only seen it twice. do you know of any really good names?
CommentsI love the pictures and the Poem is very good
CommentsWhat a coincidence! Our Gabby has been with us about 2 years now...named "Gabby", short for Gabriel because we are not certain of the sex. Doesn't really matter as we receive a lot of pleasure his(?) antics and idiosyncrasies. Will always know your Quaker as the first Gabby online...also noted the name Gabby is a common one. I loved your poem and will be making a page on our Gabby in the future...Would you mind if a link to your page from my Gabby's page was used?
Commentsit is 2wks old

Commentswell, i really don't have a Quaker Parrekeet. THis lady at my church has one and we babysit it when she goes out of town which is alot. Is yours loud? hers is super loud and annoying. Jessica
CommentsTHIS IS A CUTE WEB PAGE.
CommentsWhat type of food do you recommend to feed Quakers? ( especially babies)
CommentsI think that my lil' Quaker is a male so I've called it Buddy..heheh...I have a question..Is it best to keep it out of the cage most of the time? It seems not to like being in the cage.Thank you.
CommentsThat poem brought tears to my eyes. Did you write it? Our Petey is a real stinker. He's not afraid of anything. In fact, we have a Rottweiler, and Petey beats him up. If he could speak english, I could just imagine what he would say. I also have a cockatiel. Her name is "Birdie, or Little Girl." I am a very dedicated bird lover. We would like to get a Cockatoo, but these two little ones I have already demand soooooo much attention, that I don't think I could share anymore of myself. I've been looking for a while now for a Quaker Parrot site, and finally found it! I guess I just havn't been looking in the right spots. But I found it now, and if you'd like to write back to me, I'd love to hear from you. Warm regards,
Hayley
CommentsOur family bought Kracker when he was baby. He is now a bilingual bird also speaking the language "Hmong" from the country Laos. Kracker is very playful and funny. He likes to laugh, play hide-n-seek, sings, dances. He loves Skittles and he burps when he drinks out of a cup. He is silly. I can't imagine life without him.
CommentsI REALLY ENJOYED MEETING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY; I TOO HAVE MY FAMILY ALBUM. MY BIG GUY IS CASEY, AN AFRICAN GREY PARROT WHO LOST HIS MOMA AND DADDY IN DEATHE AND HIS REMAINING FAMILY MEMBERS DID'NT HAVE TIME OR LOVE FOR HIM. SO I BOUGHT HIM AND HE HAS BLESSED ME TOO. WRITE ME IF YOU'D LIKE AND WE CAN BECOME FEATHERED FRINDS. SINCERELY, DANA JONES
CommentsMY LITTLE JORDY IS A CLOWN BUT HE IS CONSTANTLY PICKING AT HIS FEATHERS. I TOOK HIM TO THE VET AND SHE SAID HE WAS OK, COULD THIS JUST BE A NERVOUS HABIT? HE LOVES TO CUDDLE AND HAS LEARNED TO SAY MAMA AND WHAT SO FAR, HE IS A LITTLE OVER A YEAR OLD, IS THAT ABOUT THE RIGHT AGE TO START TALKING OR SHOULD HE BE SAYING MORE. THE MIN. I GET HOME FROM WORK I TAKE HIM OUT OF HIS CAGE AND HE IS RIGHT BY MY SIDE OR CLOSE. WHAT DO YOU FEED YOURS? JORDY LIKES CORN, RICE, OATMEAL, BEANS. PLEASE WRITE ME BACK AND GIVE ME SOME IDEAS ON WHY HE IS CONSTANTLY PICKING AT HIS FEATHERS. THANKS GWEN
CommentsMy quaker parrot was a gift from my cousin Marcus. He bought him for us after the first one we had plucked himself to death. Henry looks exactly the same as Henry I. He doesn't like to be left alone. Takes a bath every two days, talks when he wants attention, and says hello when the phone rings. Everyone treats him like a baby. He loves bread dipped in coffee and loves white rice. He is very protective of my mother. Anyone who tries to get near her,he'll fly on their shoulder and bite. He has brought joy and laughter to our home.
CommentsI just brought my Sammie home on Sat 14 Aug 99. He or she is 8wks old. We also have 2 cockatiels George and Bowtie. They are jealous of each other right now.
CommentsI love Gabbys play area where did you get all of your info?
CommentsI love the play center, what all is it made of. Would love to hear from you. I love my little bird, she's so darn cute! She's only about 7 months old and she is so bossy! I also have a Blue Headed Pionus, that's only 3 months old, I actually think Pollie has more personality than the Pionus. But then he's a little older. He picks on the Pionus and the Pionus is much bigger than him. They are such funny creatures. My name is Lori, and I'd love to talk to you about birds, or anything. Take care
CommentsHow sweet!!! I have had my baby for a week. I got him straight out of the nest. I just love him to death already. Think I'll build Buddy a play area also, any suggestions? Thanks!! Terri

CommentsOF all th birds I have about 56. My quakers are my favorites Of cours my white Dove,Sugar is very sweet to wake up to her sounds.
CommentsLoved your article about Gabby, especially the poem...it's the way we all feel about our little darlings. We got Chatter when he was 8 weeks old (he's now 14 weeks)& have been hand-feeding him. We love the closeness of the feeding. Our little "guy" is the star of our household and yes, we're spoiling him!

CommentsHello, I enjoyed reading your story. I to lost a quaker to a dog. I had an adorable little quaker named Odie. He got out of his cage one night and our pekingese killed him. I could not even wait one day until I had to get another one. I also have a blue crown conure and a sun conure. (I now no longer have the pekingese but a tiny toy poodle.) But anyway I LOVE BIRDS. And I think that Gabby is very sweet. Linda Wood
Commentsour baby was just purchased 4 wks ago at the age of 12 weeks...She (was blood tested by the breader) is a doll baby & started talking this past Saturday by saying 'Georgie Porgie'. It is our first bird....I have had 2 dalmations (both now dead) and thought the similarity between us was very unusual....my first name is Sharon & my husband's name is Paul.

Thanks for the slide show! Kristen, Brian, and Sasha

I have always wanted a parrot, and I have been thinking of purchasing a quaker. Do you have any advice for me? If so, let me know. Thank you, April L. Johnson
