DeDe is 21 years old and Maverick
is 12. These are special companions of Judy and Chris

DeDe was given to us 21 years ago. She was a sad little bird that
had a personality like Don Knotts and was spitting up blood. We took her in knowing she
would die soon. Did I say that was 21 years ago? DeDe has weathered the years with many
health problems. We love her dearly and hope she lives another 21 years.
Our neighbor loved DeDe and wanted a bird just like her. We found a breeder and on
April 15, 1988 and Maverick the egg became a baby Quaker. She lived with my neighbor for
many years. My husband and I would go on vacation and left DeDe with the neighbor. DeDe
loved her visits with Maverick. Maverick was very talkative. She said things like: give me
a kiss, bye, hello, Maverick, DeDe, pretty pretty birdie, ha ha ha, DeDe bad birdie, good
night, Happy Birthday to you, Judy, etc. DeDe is just sweet.

 In the early 90's Maverick came to live with DeDe. DeDe was
very happy with this change in her life. They have been living together as sisters for
almost ten years now. They share a room together and sit happily on their cage. They love
to eat home made bread, zucchini, broccoli, fruits, and lots of different kinds of seeds.
My husband and I love having them with us. We love to visit with them in their room
and watch DeDe walk down her ladder to take a bath. We love the way DeDe trims her nails,
as we hold her foot to her mouth. We love the way Maverick walks down the ladder to come
over to us as we lie on their carpet.
We love both of their antics and are very happy to have them share our lives with
us.
