In Memory of Carolyn Jordan
1950-2000

Carolyn and Tsali

Carolyn was born on July 28,1950 in Washington, D.C,, adopted at birth by Kenneth and Marion Bennett. She grew up traveling too many different cites, due to her father’s occupation. In her teen and later years she settled in Richmond, VA. She was a flower child of the 60’s. Something she never quite gave up. During her life she had raised and shown horses, Bassett Hounds, and small exotic birds. Her proudest achievement in her 30’s was the birth and raising of her two children, Melissa, and Robert, Jr. In her mid 40s she enrolled in college (UVA) and went on to graduate from FIU. in December 1996 with a BSN. After her graduation, Carolyn went to work for Baptist Hospital in the Mother/Baby unit. In 1999 she transferred to the Labor and Delivery unit. She was a very dedicated, professional nurse who put the patients above all else. Earlier that year she met William Jordan. They met via a computer while she was in Virginia and he in Florida. It was love at first bytes, so to speak. She relocated to Miami and they were married on July 1, 1995.

Carolyn’s loves included but were not limited to: her family (especially the 4 grandchildren), her animals, and her work as a nurse. Her hobbies included: crafts (making stuffed animals), working in the yard on her plants, and visiting the Zoo. She was active in the rescue of feral exotic birds and the effort to save the Manatee.

No one that ever met Carolyn and got to know her, was ever able to dislike her, for she was truly a people person. She treated one and all with the same respect and kindness that she wished to be treated with.
