CommentsGreat sight! Our birds have also helped us to realize how special all of God's creatures are. In addition to Buddy, we have a canary, five cockatiels and a baby grey on the way. We are bird brains for sure and love it!! We have even infected a sister with bird adoration and she has started her flock with a little parakeet.
CommentsAlbert is a cutie. I think Mimi has a crush on him. She keeps staring at his picture. I agree with you in that having pet birds makes you a more caring & compassionate person. My birds mean the world to me. I wish I could "throw away the key" on anyone that commits a crime against animals. I am a member of almost every animal group including the AFA, WWF, PETA, LCA, CAPS, etc.
CommentsI recently purchased a 6 and a half week old quaker from a breeder. He is unwanted by everyone even her, because she can't keep him to breed him. He was born with no toenails. Is this a normal birth defect in quakers? He lives in a large cage now, with four perches (two large, two small) to make climbing easier. Plus he has lots of toys, attention and love. He is still on the parrot baby food and has started to eat cooked and blended fruits and veg. My other parrots are very curious because he is the smallest and jealous too because he gets a little more time and baby cereal that they all have had to taste too. But I think he is the perfect addition to our family. I now have a congo african grey, a nanday conure, a white eyed conure (very rare) and my little quaker. Please write me back if you can and send to the email address above.
CommentsHi Albert. Do you remember me? I used to work at the clinic where your mommy takes you when you aren't feeling well. I'm sad to say I now only have 4 quakers instead of 5, but I agree with your mommy...I believe I am a better person as well due to the undying love of my adopted babies. I'm glad you're healthy now, and I hope you stay that way! Keep up the good work. I love your website.
CommentsKaren,Great story to go with each of the beautiful pics. I also enjoyed the backyard photos of the wild Q's. Glad to meet you yesterday at the WPB show. Joker was very interested in the toys. Thank you.
CommentsKaren: I finally got around to looking at your bird's site. I'm impressed! I thought you had a cockatoo(Spelling?) or a large parrot of some type. Albert looks about the size of a parakeet or maybe a little larger. I hope you and Albert are doing well. Mom tells me that you recently got a nice promotion. Keep it up and soon you will be running the company (if you aren't already).
Take care and keep in touch. Tom & Sammie
